Vidrios y Solenoide

(2023, performative sound sculpture)

A system of magnetic coils hitting hanging glass objects makes us question certain violent situations that humans struggle with. We live nowadays in a world where it seems as if any solution coming might already be too late. Although we can hope to be able to glue the broken glass back on, the crack seems to be permanent.

TALK/PRESENTATION

For the October edition of ChezON we have invited interdisciplinary artist Julio Lugon!

During his ChezON talk, Julio will browse through some of his more recent work and some older projects that relate to sound, installation art and post-humanist philosophy.
On the last year Julio has been working with the concepts of balance and equilibrium. Through fiction he was making the ghosts of projects lost in the past resonate in the present so that they would have been worthwhile in the future. His work takes the form of a material and symbolic transformation that arises through processes from inside the atelier, physically and poetically connected with the outdoors, a landspace covered with vegetation and wildlife.

2023, sound performance with plants

She left calmly and taught us to keep flowing even if all things collapse. While vibrating with the elements around us, there is no way to know what is going on beyond our human perceptual system. That threshold could be sound art, since from very abstract phenomena we can assimilate tangible issues. This sound performance with plants wants to talk about the beautiful saturation and collapse that results after very concentrated sessions of sonic meditation, which end at some point, only to be deconstructed to use the pieces that shine the most.
